Microphone Preamplifiers
A preamplifier will typically give you 20-70dB of gain. This is the largest amount of gain that the signal will see, which makes the character of the gear doing it very important. Differences in preamps can range from subtle, to dramatic, especially when pushed to, or beyond normal operating limits.
